My Bio

I’m Tyler Moses. I’m a dad, a small business owner, and a Conway neighbor who believes school board members should be present, prepared, and willing to lead with clarity and accountability.

My son attends Ruth Doyle and previously attended Ida Burns and Florence Mattison. I’ve been actively involved with PTO at all three. I earned a degree in Financial Risk Management from UA Little Rock before serving as a National Bank Examiner with the United States Department of the Treasury. My career has focused on identifying, measuring, and managing risk, and that background shapes how I approach school budgets, governance, and long term planning.

Over the past several years, I have built strong relationships with teachers and staff across Conway. They know I will listen, do the homework, and follow through. I have spoken at board meetings to strengthen transparency and financial oversight. When a charter conversion appeared on an agenda without prior public input, I raised concerns and it was removed. When administrative staffing expanded while classrooms felt stretched thin, I pressed for clearer answers and accountability. When teachers asked for policy changes to allow Amazon Wish Lists and DonorsChoose grants, I worked to help make that happen. When a student close to our family needed additional reading support, I stayed engaged until he received an IEP.

Accountability should produce action. I have worked to make sure it does.

Outside of school, I stay actively involved in Conway’s civic life. I serve as Secretary of the Conway Tree Board, volunteer with Salem UMC’s Community Sharing Fridge, and have worked with Conway’s Youth Football League to support youth sports. I have also helped plan community events like the Rise at 5th Community Bash and the city’s Annual Arbor Day celebration. My son attends the Boys and Girls Club, and we spend a lot of our time investing in the same community that invests in us. If you have driven down Mill Street at Halloween, you have likely seen the over the top decorations, and at Christmas our 15 foot tree is regularly featured in the Chamber’s Light Up Conway contest. We love this city, and we show that commitment by being present and involved year round.

I believe strong schools require disciplined oversight, clear communication, and leaders who show up ready to do the work.

My Key Issues

Keep the Focus on Students & Classrooms

Our schools work best when classrooms come first. That means supporting our teachers, strengthening reading and math outcomes, and making sure resources are directed where they make the most impact. Board decisions should reduce distractions, not create them. I believe leadership means keeping students at the center of every budget, policy, and conversation. When classrooms are prioritized, the entire district benefits.

Use Taxpayer Dollars Responsibly & Transparently

I bring a background in financial oversight and federal bank regulation, and I know how important disciplined review and risk management are when public funds are involved. School budgets should be clear, defensible, and aligned with classroom priorities. Families deserve to understand how dollars are allocated and why. Transparency is not optional or reactive. It is a leadership responsibility. That means careful oversight, appropriate use of executive session, and proactive communication so trust is maintained, not repaired later.

Stay Engaged & Do The Work

Strong schools require consistent attention, not occasional appearances. I stay engaged. I attend board meetings, participate in community forums, and build real working relationships with teachers, staff, and parents across campuses. I have supported classroom needs through grant writing, helped connect schools with community partners through efforts like Arbor Day and garden initiatives, and advocated for decisions that prioritize stability and student outcomes. School board members should be present, prepared, and willing to do the work in the open.
